This peach eri silk ikat shawl has a flower pattern in apricot, coral and burnt umber. A peach selvedge runs along the length. Both ends have a fringe in cream and peach.
‘Chitiki’ in weavers parlance means a dot. Ikat weaving involves a fast disappearing, painstaking, and laborious process of graphing a design, to marking on the yarn, tying and untying yarn, and dyeing each color separately. Once this process is complete, it means the chitikis are complete and the weaving of the design commences, while ensuring the chitikis in the design are intact.
Enjoy its beauty as a piece of art.
